The feature extraction algorithms for person identification based on ear images are proposed in this article. In the first stage of the algorithm original images are filtered by applying Gabor filter. In the second stage characteristic features of ear images are extracted using principal components analysis and statistical parameters. The proposed algorithms can be used for creating software systems for the classification of objects given in the form of images.
