In the following article the mechanisms for improving the efectiveness and quality of education in higher education institutions, as well as mechanisms for managing the educational process are discussed. The issues of monitoring the quality of education and its efective management, involving innovations in the educational process were considered. The importance of modern information technologies in educational system reforms is analyzed.
