This article discusses the development of an effective control strategy for self-excited induction generator systems operating on the basis of renewable energy sources. Induction generators used in distributed generation sources such as microhydropower plants, wind energy, and solar energy have several advantages, including simple construction, low cost, and high reliability. However, due to load variations and instability of rotational speed, fluctuations in voltage and frequency are among the main problems. The study analyzes control methods based on an electronic load controller, reactive power control, and capacitor banks. The proposed strategy contributes to stabilizing the generator output voltage and frequency, improving energy efficiency, and supplying consumers with high-quality electrical energy.
