Manzum edebî eserlerde sanatkârların anlatımlarında müracaat ettiği pek çok sanattan birisi tezattır. Bu sanatın mahiyeti itibarıyla iki unsurun karşılaştırılması esasında yapılır ve bu karşılaştırma, sanatkârın belirlediği poetik bir amaca hizmet eder. Yapılan bu karşılaştırma aracılığıyla iki unsurdan birinin özelliğini öne çıkarma bunu daha açık bir şekilde gösterme amaçlanır.
