In this article, the author analyzes the recommendations of international standards regarding the further ensuring the independence of the legal profession in Uzbekistan. The author believes that associations formed directly by lawyers themselves at the level of the region (capital) should form the basis of the organization of the legal community, and believe it is most correct to attribute to their competence the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of lawyers, issues of admission of new members, control over disciplinary practice, organization of internships and advanced training of lawyers and other vital aspects of the activity. Based on the results of the study, the author presents theoretical conclusions.
