Тhis article discusses the features of the formation and development of the Saudi novel. Also in this article the periodization of the stages of development and formation of the novel is given. Using the example of the analysis of works, the work of famous Saudi novelists, such as: Abdul-Quddus al-Ansari, Ahmad al-Sibai, Ibrahim al-Nasser, Damanhure al-Maghribi, al –Jawahiri, Rida Huhu, etc., is traced.
