ABSTRACT One of the main topics of today’s modern linguistics is the interaction between language and culture and their influence on each other. This article discusses the non-alternative lexicon and its types, which play an important role in the structure of the Uzbek language. The tasks of the non-substitutable lexicon in expressing the concepts related to a certain national culture have been noted. The unique aspects of language units such as ethnographism, dialectism, lacuna, exotism as an alternative lexicon are analyzed. The opinions of the world's linguists in this regard were given and their reactions were expressed. Key words: language, culture, non-alternative lexicon, ethnographism, dialectism, lacuna, exotism, wedding ceremonies, national customs.
