Opportunities and challenges of startup launching in Uzbekistan

This study explores the opportunities and challenges associated with launching startups in Uzbekistan, focusingon the lived experiences of entrepreneurs. Using a qualitative research design based on semi-structured interviewswith startup founders, the study investigates how individuals perceive and navigate the entrepreneurial environmentin a transitional economy. The findings reveal that while Uzbekistan offers emerging opportunities such as increasinggovernment support, growing digital markets, and access to young talent, entrepreneurs face significant challengesincluding limited access to finance, regulatory barriers, and skill shortages. The study highlights the importance of personalmotivation, networks, and adaptability in overcoming these challenges. The research contributes to the understanding ofentrepreneurship in emerging economies by providing context-specific insights into the Uzbek startup ecosystem.
