ABSTRACT This article is devoted to the investigation of the borrowings, their history, reasons and ways. In particular, direct and indirect ways of foreign borrowings in the language, the importance of transmitting words in the linguistics with the help of conductor-language are explained. Several examples in Russian and English loanwords in the Uzbek language are given and interpreted. The research carried on the loanwords borrowed into the Uzbek language, in particular, into the language of mass media in the period of independence, i.e. in 1991-2001 years in Uzbekistan. Main attention was paid to the reasons and results of borrowings in the languages, new loanwords from the newspaper “Khalk suzi” with examples are given with their meanings.
