The concepts identified in linguistics when considering problems of synonymy such as “absolute synonyms”, “exact synonyms”, “synonyms”, “quasi-synonyms”, etc. are best reduced to two concepts - “doublet” and “synonym”, in order to make it easier terms could be used. This article is devoted to this problem of differences between synonyms and doublets.
