The article analyzes the biological characteristics, chemical composition and use of Hypericum L.in folk medicine. The main chemicals contained in Hypericum L.and their therapeutic effect in diabetes mellitus, skin ulcers, burns, depression and gastrointestinal diseases are shown. It has been shown to have antidepressant and neurodegenerative properties through chemical processes in Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
