Annotatsiya

This article is aimed to study the concept of language stratification in English from the structural point of view. In this paper, the language system in English is analyzed as a hierarchy consisting of five interrelated levels - phonetics, morphology, lexicology, syntax and pragmatics. Each linguistic level is discussed in detail to provide deeper insights into its special characteristics and units of study. The study follows the structural approach to language stratification, which was developed by Ferdinand de Saussure. This linguistic framework is highly useful to demonstrate the interdependence and interrelationships among the linguistic units.
