The key approaches to the category of "labor potential" and the main directions of labor management researches are given in the article. On this basis there were given definitions of "labor potential of the textile and clothing industry", "management of labor in the textile and clothing industry". The basic risks for the industry and the factors contributing to its economic growth we marked out.
