Currently, slang is one of the most interesting language systems in modern linguistics. This paper offers coverage of a number of problems associated with the existence of such a phenomenon as slang. The tasks of the proposed work are reduced to defining the sphere of existence of slang, studying its functioning as a system, tracing its origins and varieties. In this article, the main goals of slang work are as an independent phenomenon in the language and it should be considered in modern linguistics as a separate category.
