This article analyzes the current issues of developing professional competencies in the process of training managers in higher education institutions and the directions of using advanced foreign experience. The need for professional, communicative and conceptual competencies for the successful functioning of managerial personnel is substantiated. At the same time, the experience of the USA, Europe and Eastern countries emphasizes the widespread use of innovative teaching technologies, practice-oriented programs and interactive methods in the educational process. The implementation of these experiences in the national education system serves to form managers as competitive and strategically thinking specialists
