The article provides recommendations for taking effective measures to combat flooding, taking into account the extreme complexity and diversity of hydrological factors of the Amu Darya, sharp seasonal fluctuations in water level and discharge, high turbidity, and the intensity of channel processes. Also, scientifically based methods for placing dredgers when cleaning the head parts and along the entire length of water supply canals are highlighted.
