This article analyzes the activities of traditional schools and madrasas in the Karakalpak regions at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries based on historical sources. It examines primary education, Qur’anic studies, and moral training in maktabs, as well as the teaching of Arabic language, logic, fiqh, and tafsir in madrasas. The study also highlights the socio-economic foundations of the educational system and its role in the social life of the region.
