The article focuses on the historical roots of the emergence of folk national games and festivals, the stages of development of these festivals and games, based on written sources and historical research. At the same time, the article attempts to analyze the information presented in sources and modern research so far, comparatively and based on new views and approaches, and draw conclusions.
