This article explains the essence of one of the tropes - antonomasia, defines its function in oral and written speech, defines their role in Shakespeare's work in the realization of art, examines its semantic features, reveals the poet's ability to use them on factual material. In addition, the article discusses the purpose for which the author used antonomasia, the role of antonomasia in linguistics, and ways to use it more effectively. It can be seen that Shakespeare's use of mythology of that period in the use of antonomasia in his works is reflected in all cases.
