This article describes the period of elementary school age and age-related psychological characteristics, the formation of empathy in interpersonal relationships of elementary school age, and the influence of empathy on interpersonal relationships. The scientific views of foreign psychologists on the features of the junior school age period, the most important stages and tasks in the development of empathy among students of junior school age are highlighted.
