The article examines the system of images in narratives widely represented in classical literature and incorporated into major literary works. The system of images in the narratives included in Alisher Navoi’s epic “Saddi Iskandari” serves as a vivid example of a traditional artistic model prevalent in classical literature. In scholarly literature, the concept of “image” is interpreted as an artistic and aesthetic symbol that generalizes and reflects reality within a literary work. The system of images constitutes a complex structure in which all characters, symbols, details, and allegorical elements are interconnected and serve to reveal a unified ideological and artistic content. The study provides scientifically grounded information on the system of images and their functions within the work. Particular attention is given to narrative images and their role in the structure of the text. Depending on their participation and function in the work, the images are classified into several groups: historical and fictional images, main and secondary images, motif and detail images, as well as active and passive images according to their degree of involvement in the narrative. These groups are systematized in tables. Furthermore, a scholarly analysis is conducted for each group of images and their functional significance in the work. Special emphasis is placed on the most frequently occurring and significant image types (such as detail, motif, active, and passive images), which are analyzed based on examples from the narratives. Scientifically grounded conclusions are also provided regarding the function of these images in the artistic structure of the work, their role in literary poetics, and the poet’s mastery in creating artistic imagery.
