The article examines examples of the use of stationary and mobile shredders in crushing and their potential for use in crushing plant residues in the field. A classification of technical means for crushing plant residues for animal feed has been developed, and the most promising directions in the development of means for crushing feed while reducing energy and metal consumption have been identified.
