This article explores the religious and mythological roots of “paranormal episodes” in Eastern literature, as well as their poetic evolution and genesis. Based on the Quran and religious sources, the function of the images of Iblis, jinn, and shaytan in literature is analyzed through the examples of N. Rabghuzi’s “Qissasi Rabg‘uziy” and A. Navoi’s “Tarixi anbiyo va hukamo”.
