In this article, a comparative analysis of various materials used in the manufacture of antenna devices is carried out. During the analysis, the properties of traditional, composite, and metamaterials were studied, and the issues of their application in antenna devices were considered. Materials such as copper, aluminum, and gold are distinguished by their high electrical and thermal conductivity, but they have some limitations in terms of price and durability. Composite materials are relatively lightweight and, in addition to antenna devices, are widely used in the aviation and automotive industries. Metamaterials have unique properties and are quite useful in the fields of signal transmission and electromagnetic control. An imitation model of the use of metamaterials in a patch antenna was created, and simulation results were obtained.
