The article discusses the issues of monitoring and forecasting the ecological state of the air basin of industrial regions and determines the main parameters and intervals of their change to improve adequate mathematical models of research objects. In the study, the parameters important in the process of spreading harmful substances in the boundary layer of the atmosphere are vertical and horizontal wind speeds, the roughness of the earth's surface, the orography of the area, and changes in wind direction. Based on the results obtained, conclusions about relative air humidity and turbulence coefficients depending on weather factors are presented.
