This article examines, based on historical analysis, the fundamental transformations in women’s education in the Bukharan People’s Soviet Republic during its incorporation into the Soviet Union, particularly in the 1920s. The study analyzes the transition from the traditional maktab and madrasa system to new Soviet schools, the reflection of the “Hujum” policy in the field of education, as well as local social resistance and the role of the Jadid movement in this process. The 1920s marked a period of profound qualitative change in the history of women’s education in Bukhara, as these transformations emerged simultaneously as a rejection of Tsarist-era restrictions, the practical implementation of Jadid ideas, and the spread of Soviet ideology into the region.
