The article discusses issues related to the formation and powers of qualification commissions for the regions and also revises the criteria for the exclusion of members from these commissions. Particular attention is paid to the requirements for documents that must be submitted by applicants to obtain the status of a lawyer when passing the qualification exam. The article also considers the cases and consequences that may prohibit an applicant from taking a qualifying exam, as well as the time frame for revising the list of exam questions. All aspects are analyzed taking into account the current legislation and the experience of advanced foreign countries.
