This article studies the artistic interpretation of the Sufi views of "fano" and "bako" in the work of Alisher Navoi. To cover the topic, thoughts about the concept of "fano" in classical sources were initially analyzed and classified. In particular, for the interpretation of literary texts, thoughts from Al-Luma' by Abu Nasr Sarrozh, Risolai Kushairiya by Abdulkarim Kushairi, from the works of representatives of the Naqshbandi order "Fasl ul-hitob" and "Qudsiya" by Khoja Muhammad Porso, "Nafakhot ul-uns" by Abdurakhman Zhami, "Nasoyim ul-muhabbat" by Alisher Navoi. To study the degree of interpretation of the problem of "fano" and "bako" in the works of Alisher Navoi, both lyrical (gazelle, rubai, kita, fard) and epic (poem) works of the poet were chosen as an object. Some couplets in Navoi ghazals on this topic are comparatively interpreted with extensive thoughts and framed stories from the author's poems. Not only the artistic appearance of the “fano” symbol in the works of Alisher Navoi is shown, but also the image of real people, such as Abdurakhman Jami, Sayyid Hasan Ardasher during the time of the poet. To study the scientific problem posed, the principles of interpretation in classical and modern literary criticism are taken as a methodological basis. At the end of the article, generalized conclusions are made.
