In society, it is becoming more and more difficult to control both the content of information and the methods and means of its dissemination through the media. The problem of independent thinking of young people under the influence of such a chaotic presentation of information requires the formation of their views, values, as well as the search for ways to regulate the information world in the minds of young people, the development and formation of new methods and skills. The article analyzes the role of information, virtual information, electronic media in the context of information threats, their impact on the consciousness of people, society, especially young people, in this regard, increasing the culture of information consumption by young people. The necessity of protecting young people from the threat of virtual information and dangerous manipulative influences has been substantiated.
