Annotatsiya

This article examines deictic devices as one of the key means of expressing the author’s perspective in a literary text. The relevance of this study stems from the need to consider deictics not only as a linguistic mechanism for referring to the participants, space and time of a speech act, but also as a means of organising the author’s perspective and shaping the interpretative space of a literary work. The novel *Cien años de soledad* (‘One Hundred Years of Solitude’) by Gabriel García Márquez served as the material for this study. The paper analyses the personal, spatial, temporal, discursive, social and emotional-evaluative types of deictic reference.
