Paleostructural analysis of mesozoic–cenozoic deposits in the southwestern gissar petroleum region

Annotatsiya

The effectiveness of oil and gas exploration in complex geological environments directly depends on the accuracy of reconstructingstructural trap development history. Based on a paleostructural analysis of the Mesozoic–Cenozoic sedimentary cover in theSouthwestern Gissar petroleum region, this paper reconstructs its tectonic evolution and establishes the evolutionary stages of itsmain structural elements. The study relies on a detailed stratigraphic breakdown of 70 wells. A structural map on top of the Middle–Upper Jurassic carbonate deposits was selected as a key reference horizon, from which a series of six paleostructural maps wasconstructed by sequentially adding the thicknesses of overlying strata. Paleostructural modeling reconstructed the regional tectonicevolution—from the formation of the Dehkanabad Trough in the Late Jurassic to the Paleogene growth of anticlinal zones—demonstrating high consistency with the present-day structural framework.
