To increase the efficiency of small (low-tonnage) and container shipments by rail freight. Methods of system analysis and multi-criteria optimization are applied. The paper analyzes freight-commercial operations by rail freight and proposes a new method for implementing freight-commercial operations by rail freight. A method and mathematical model for the optimal organization of mobile freight-commercial teams have been developed. Organization of mobile teams by rail will lead to the following: an increase in the volume of freight transportation, a decrease in transportation costs, a decrease in road congestion, etc.
