The study of historical sources shows that the history of corruption is in fact no less than the history of statehood; moreover, it existed in any state. The fight against corruption in our country has risen to the level of state policy in Uzbekistan by the 21st century. At the same time, although the fight against corruption has been practically unstudied in the history of Uzbek statehood, liability has been established at the level of individual types of corruption crimes. In particular, legal works written in ancient Turan, Turkestan, and Mawarannahr, as well as documents based on them, strongly condemned bribery, as well as a number of offenses, and imposed severe punishments on individuals who committed such actions. This article highlights Amir Timur’s policy in combating corruption and bribery. In this regard, alongside “Temur tuzuklari (the Code of Temur),” the works of Sharafuddin Ali Yazdi, Nizamiddin Shami, Ibn Arabshah, Abdurazzaq Samarqandi, and Davlatshah Samarqandi were studied, as well as the works of the French Timurid scholar Professor L.Keren, Academicians Buriboy Akhmedov, Ibragim Muminov, Akmal Saidov, and Azamat Ziyo, scholars of the Republic of Uzbekistan professors Temur Shirinov, Halim Boboyev, and Professor Shohistakhon Uljaeva, and other scholars contributing to the exploration of Timurid history. Additionally, works exploring the topic, scientific research papers, and Amir Timur’s legal activities in combating corruption in the state were analyzed.
