в статье рассматриваются идеологические аспекты формирования и эволюции политических партий США и их отражение в политике президентов. Партийные идеологии рассматриваются как три основных компонента: логически связанные идеи и принципы, их особенности, а также их устойчивость и преемственность, природа которых рассматривается в рамках конкретно-исторических событий и интересов социальных групп и социально экономической ситуации внутри страны. Вопросы деятельности политических партий как элемента американской политики анализируются сквозь призму эволюции их идеологических концептов и адаптации партий к изменениям в политической системе.
