This study analyzed the diagnostic criteria for vulvovaginal infections in pregnant women. Diagnostic methods for pregnant women with vulvovaginal infection were determined: microscopic, bacteriological, and PCR. Along with microscopic, bacteriological methods, the method of qualitative PCR research was used, which is the "gold standard" in the diagnosis of pathogens, causative agents of IVI, but at the same time it is not quantitative, it is used mainly for the detection of obligate pathogens. A comparative assessment of the effectiveness of the detection of microorganisms by various methods is given. It was revealed that the bacteriological method and PCR study allow qualitatively and quantitatively identify causative agents of vulvovaginal infections, conduct a comprehensive assessment of the etiological role of infectious agents in the development of urogenital pathology; however, diagnostic efficiency remains low: with the bacteriological method - 56%, with high-quality PCR - 79%.
