Periodontal diseases occur in all age groups, including young people and even children, which contributes to the formation of the "unhealthiness" of the nation. Signs of periodontal tissue damage appear already in 6-7-year-old children, by the age of 15 more than half of adolescents are registered, and in the adult population their prevalence reaches 85-100%. It should be emphasized that with inflammatory periodontal pathology in humans, the quality of life deteriorates in proportion to the activity of the inflammatory process. The mucous membrane of the oral cavity is adapted to constant contact with a variety of microflora and is resistant to various stimuli, to contact with the flora-rich oral cavity.
