The need for an adequate assessment of the economic security for each bank is one of the main tasks, since this will identify potentially dangerous risk factors, with a view to their subsequent minimization in order to reduce the level of probability of financial losses and reduce the likelihood of bankruptcy. The paper discusses methods for assessing the level of economic security of commercial bank, as well as presents the factors affecting the economic security of banks, criteria and indicators for assessing the financial stability of commercial banks
