In the process of digging up the root crops with diggers, equipped with serial undermining working bodies, wide tillers unevenly transfer a large amount of soil to the separating working bodies, which leads to their overload. As a result, the loss of the root crops increases and the quality of work of the unit deteriorates. An energy-saving shredder has been developed to solve this problem, which in turn increases productivity and improves the quality of the work. It is proved that in order to improve the productivity and the quality of the work, the undermining working body of a root-and-cube-digger should be sectional. It has been established that the proposed undercutting working body of root-shredder processes the necessary part of the ridge in which the roots are located, and transmits the minimum mass of the reservoir to the separating elevator. In the process, the sectional plowshares dig up the smaller soil of the bed, and the beater feeder directs towards the elevator. Field studies have been carried out and the qualitative agrotechnical indicators of the root shredder have been obtained. The energy-saving digging tool of the root shredder processes 12,2-14,1 per cent less soil on the root beds of the root crops, as compared to the serial one, the traction share of the plowshare decreases, the loss of tubers decreases by 7,0-9,2 percent, and the productivity of the unit rises by 15,0 percent by increasing its speed. The purpose of the study is to improve the efficiency of the technological process of harvesting the root crops by creating working organs of the digger, taking into account the soil and climatic conditions of Uzbekistan. The task of the research is to develop a new root-grower that meets the soil and climatic conditions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and conduct the field tests of a new root-digger to determine its quality and energy indicators.
