SYNTHESIS OF LaFeO₃ PEROVSKITE AND PHYSICOCHEMICAL INVESTIGATION OF ITS STRUCTURAL AND SURFACE MORPHOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Annotatsiya

LaFeO₃ perovskite material was synthesized using the sol-gel method. The obtained sample was subjected to physicochemical investigations to analyze its structural and surface morphological properties as well as quantum chemical calculations. According to quantum chemical calculations, Fe ions in the LaFeO₃ structure belonging to the Pnma phase are located within FeO₆ octahedra. Based on the computational data, the Fe–O bond lengths are about 2.05 Å, while the Fe–O–Fe bridging angles deviate from the ideal 180° to approximately 158°. Furthermore, the La–O interatomic distances in the perovskite lattice vary within a relatively wide range, with an average value of 2.80 Å. The results of the EDS analysis revealed that the quantitative composition of the sample includes a strong La signal (LaKα intensity ≈ 82.65 cps/μA) and a relatively weaker Fe signal (FeKα ≈ 14.10 cps/μA). Based on the calculations, it was determined that the material contains approximately 70.7% La₂O₃ and 29.3% Fe₂O₃ oxides by mass per 100 g of sample.
