Maqolada, kitobxonlik va mutolaa madaniyatini yuksaltirish muhim vazifa sifatida qaralib, kitobxonlikning mohiyati to‘g‘risidagi fikr-mulohazalar, mutolaa madaniyati inson ma’naviy kamolotini yuksaltirishdagi ahamiyati, mutolaaning falsafiy jihatlari tahlil qilingan. Inson ma’naviy olamini boyitishda mutolaa madaniyatini yuksaltirish uchun kitobni tanlay bilish, aqliy kamoloti, ahloqiy barkamolligi hamda kitobga bo‘lgan mehrini oshirish borasida bahs-munozaralar o‘rganilgan. Mazkur ishda, mamlakatimizda mutolaa bilan bog‘liq mavjud vaziyatlar o‘rganilib, ularning yechimiga oid metodik tavsiyalar berilgan.
