Annotatsiya

This article examines stress, rhythm and intonation in English and Uzbek from a comparative-phonetic perspective. English is marked by mobile stress, vowel reduction, stress-timed rhythm and pitch-based intonation, while Uzbek has more regular stress, clearer vowel articulation and syllable-oriented rhythm. The study shows that these differences may cause pronunciation difficulties for Uzbek learners of English.
