In the Republic of Belarus, reducing the suicide rate has been the focus of state policy for many years, which is reflected as a priority task, which is defined as "Mental health protection and suicide reduction" and is an integral part of subprogram 3 "Prevention and overcoming of drunkenness and alcoholism, mental health protection" of the State Program "People's Health and Demographic security" for 2021-2025, approved by Resolution No. 28 of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus dated January 19, 2021. The reduction of the suicide rate acts as a target indicator.
