This article examines the main differences between natural and synthetic drugs, as well as their benefit and harm. Both the therapeutic and the potentially dangerous effects of these substances are described. The concept of drugs and of polydrug addiction is also discussed, which makes it possible to understand the nature of dependence more deeply. The article reviews the studies of scientists devoted to drugs, as well as the influence of their use on health and on society. Particular attention is paid to the problems of addiction, including polydrug addiction, and to the medical use of narcotic substances.
