Ventral hernias are a widespread pathology of the abdominal wall in which the organs of the abdominal cavity protrude through a defect in its anterior wall. The article examines the main causes of ventral hernias, diagnostic methods, treatment approaches, as well as possible complications and preventive measures. Surgery remains the main method of treatment; however, modern minimally invasive technologies have significantly improved treatment outcomes and shortened the recovery period of patients.
