The results of the study include retrospective and prospective studies of 242 patients who underwent surgery because of strangulated hernias of the anterior abdominal wall complicated by intestinal obstruction. The risk of developing compartment syndrome and hernia recurrence is reduced from 19.1% to 5.4% by means of tension-free "onlay" hernioalloplasty with U-shaped fixing sutures (W1-W2) and the combined "onlay+sublay" method (W3-W4).
