A total of 118 patients diagnosed with classic TN were examined. Patients were screened for comorbidities, and the incidence of TN was compared between rural and urban populations. To clarify the vascular conflict of the vertebral-basilar system, a multispiral computed tomography scan was performed. Morphological studies conducted at our institution showed that individuals with dolichoectasia of the vertebrobasilar arteries are at risk for developing vertebral-basilar system.
