Annotatsiya

This article examines the life, scholarly activity, and public career of Hujuma Shukurova as an important representative of women’s leadership in Soviet Uzbekistan. Drawing on biographical materials and archival evidence, the study analyzes the social and political context in which Uzbek women entered public administration, scholarship, and international cultural relations in the Soviet period. Particular attention is paid to the influence of early Soviet policies on women’s emancipation, the formation of Shukurova’s intellectual worldview, her academic specialization in the history of women in the East, and her role in the institutional and cultural representation of Uzbekistan abroad.
