This article analyzes the scientific and literary environment of XI-XII century Khwarazm and its stages of development through the example of the era of Mahmud al-Zamakhshari. It highlights Khwarazm’s role in the Eastern Renaissance, the patronage of the Khwarazmshahs, the formation of scholarly centers, and the overall intellectual heritage of scholars and literary figures of the period.
