Annotatsiya

Echinococcosis is a parasitic disease caused by larvae of intestinal worms of the genus Echinococcus, most often Echinococcus granulosus and Echinococcus multilocularis. Infection occurs when the eggs of the parasite are ingested, which enter the human body through contaminated food, water or contact with infected animals, most often dogs. Echinococcosis is characterized by the formation of cysts in various organs, especially in the liver and lungs, which can lead to serious complications such as cyst rupture and allergic reactions. The clinical manifestations of the disease can range from an asymptomatic course to pronounced signs such as abdominal pain, jaundice and cough with sputum. Diagnosis is based on clinical examination, medical imaging (ultrasound, CT, MRI) and laboratory tests. Prevention includes measures to control the dog population, compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards and regular examinations for infection.
