Thin endometrium is a significant problem in preparation for pregnancy. In this article, we review the causes of endometrial thinning, diagnostic methods, and effective treatment strategies. Endometrial infertility is the cause of implantation failure, which prevents the onset and development of spontaneous pregnancy, as well as the implementation of assisted reproductive technology programs. One of the most common mechanisms of infertility development is endometrial thinning. Despite the large number of publications, there are currently no generally accepted diagnostic criteria and approaches to treatment and rehabilitation of this pathology, which stimulates the continuation of scientific research in this area. The data presented in the literature indicate that the endometrial causes of infertility are associated with the incompleteness of the mucous membrane of the uterine cavity, which may be manifested by the phenomenon of “thin endometrium”, the mechanisms of development of which are not fully understood. Thus, before planning a subsequent pregnancy, it is necessary to diagnose and, if possible, eliminate or correct the endometrial causes of infertility.
